Manuscript Outline Discussion
This forum begins with the email discussion that occurred between December 20, 2009 and January 19, 2010 in response to the manuscript outline. The outline can be found under Documents. The purpose of this forum is to identify what viewpoint(s) and evidence the manuscript will present to make a valuable contribution to the field of invasion biology.

Paper Format
What type of paper should we aim for?
(1) ‘thought piece’ – little data, case studies with lots of opinion, easy/fast to write (assuming we can all agree!), will have to focus on one or two key ideas.
(2) ‘formal review’ – more detailed literature search, broader interest to readers, will still have to focus our outline.
(3) ‘long-format review’ – detailed literature analysis, multiple sections, lots of work, may need to expand outline depending on journal.
